Well, that’s one way to do it!

My mind has officially been blown 😂

The other day, my 3-year-old was attempting to pour himself a glass of milk.

He failed. Miserably. Milk everywhere

But instead of crying over spilled milk, he looked up and laughed and said, “Well, that’s one way to do it!”

And aside from the fact that I’m probably going to be cleaning old milk out of the silverware drawer for the next decade or so 🤢… I was majorly impressed.

It’s so easy to get derailed when we fail at something, and to get caught up in a negative spiral of thoughts like

What was I thinking?

I’m never going to get it right.

I can’t do it.

I’m a failure.

But, the reality is, failure is only the end if you let it be. You could fail at something and then give up, or you could take it as a (sometimes really hard) learning experience.

Clean up the spill and try again.

What was I thinking?   ➡ When I accomplish this, it’s going to feel like ______

I’m never going to get it right.  ➡ That didn’t work, but I’m going to try ____ next

I can’t do it. ➡ I can do this!

I’m a failure.  ➡ I’m (insert expletive of choice) amazing and learning all sorts of stuff!

Your thought to ruminate on for the day… if there is any area in life where you’re feeling like you’re failing a bit, stop. Breathe. Smile to yourself and declare, well, that’s one way to do it!

And then let’s go do this thing. 💪
